Andocken is maritime language and means “to dock” or in the broader sense “to arrive and find a home.” The Andocken team consists of people from different nations, with and without refugee background, who have a big heart for refugees. Since we ourselves are migrants here in Hamburg, we know how important it is for migrants to have more opportunities to really connect with society and belong in Germany. This happens on the one hand through practical help after arrival, but also through language and friendship. We want to particularly strengthen key people in the respective communities through mentoring, so that they in turn can have a positive influence on the people around them, encourage them and network among them.
